Our Training Approach

At Steel City Trades, we’re on a mission to teach the next generation of tradespeople by making hands-on learning fun and engaging. Our program focuses on skills in Auto Mechanics, Autobody, and Metal Fabrication, using projects that keep students motivated and inspired.

Auto Mechanics

  • Our Auto Mechanics Classes cover: Tool use & safety
    Basic diagnostics
    Engine components
    Maintenance & repairs

  • With training in Auto Mechanics, participants can pursue careers as service technicians, diesel mechanics, small engine repair specialists, mobile mechanics, or in parts and supply sales.
    (And let’s be real—you’ll probably be fixing your friends’ cars at least twice a week.)

Autobody

  • The Autobody Program covers the following topics:

    Sanding & prepping
    Paintwork & finishes
    Panel repair & swaps
    Custom designs

  • With training in Autobody, participants can pursue careers as collision repair technicians, painters, appraisers, detail technicians, restoration specialists, or in parts and supply sales.

Metal Fabrication

  • The Metal Fabrication Program covers the following topics:

    Measuring & cutting
    Welding basics
    Bending & shaping
    Small functional builds

  • With training in Metal Fabrication, participants can launch careers as welders, pipefitters, boilermakers, custom or industrial fabricators, sheet metal workers, machinists, or tool and die makers.
